We always recommend hand-washing our artisan-made dishes, but the set is also dishwasher and microwave safe.
White porcelain with the addition of ground basalt rock or body-colored porcelain (in colored variants). The white set is entirely covered with a colorless, glossy glaze. The colored versions are glazed only on the inside, leaving the outside satin and pleasant to the touch.
