Wheel-turning is a clay shaping technique that is great for making vessels and other regular ceramic objects.
During weekly meetings, you'll learn the basics of working on the wheel. The first two classes are devoted to turning techniques (centering, pressing, and shaping the clay) and preparing the clay mass. In the third class, you'll learn how to trim your turned pieces, and in the final class, you'll decorate them with colored pigments (or "ceramic paints") and coat them with clear or white glazes. After being fired at 1250°C, the vessels will be food-safe and dishwasher-safe.
